Tens of thousands of Sikh soldiers fought and fell in France in the two World Wars. Maharaja Duleep Singh spent his last years in Paris.
Today’s small Sikh community is centred on Bobigny, north-east of Paris, which holds a Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan each year.
