How Sikhs arrived
Sikhs began settling in Germany in the 1970s and 1980s, many of them as refugees from Punjab, and the community has grown steadily since.
Today there are Gurdwaras in most large German cities, with the biggest sangats in Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
