How Sikhs arrived
Sikhs began settling in northern Italy in the 1980s and 1990s, many working on dairy farms in Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, the heartland of Parmigiano Reggiano.
Today Italy has one of the largest Sikh communities in continental Europe.
