Sikh Gurdwara DC, on Massachusetts Avenue near Washington National Cathedral and the embassies, is also the US home of Pingalwara, the Amritsar charity for the sick and abandoned. It is fairly small, with an almost square darbar ringed by a balcony that gives it a special feel. It runs Gurmat and kirtan classes and langar for the wider community, and on busy Sundays many non-Sikh visitors come too.
Diwan and langar times can change, so please check with the Gurdwara before you travel. Spotted something out of date? Write to [email protected].
