The Sikh Center of New York in Flushing, Queens, is close to LaGuardia Airport in one of the city’s great immigrant neighbourhoods. Its understated front recalls the Sikh architecture of 19th-century Punjab. Inside, the langar hall is in the basement and the long, narrow darbar has two large Nishan Sahibs before the Guru, a setup quite unlike other Gurdwaras.
Diwan and langar times can change, so please check with the Gurdwara before you travel. Spotted something out of date? Write to [email protected].
