Sikhs in Tanzania

How Sikhs arrived

Sikhs came to Tanzania in the early 1900s, many as craftsmen and engineers on the railways, and built Gurdwaras in the towns along the lines.

Small sangats still gather at Gurdwaras in Dar es Salaam, Iringa and other towns.
