Sikhs in Thailand

How Sikhs arrived

Sikhs came to Thailand from the 1880s, many by way of Burma, and opened the first Gurdwaras in Chiang Mai in 1907 and Bangkok in 1912.

Most Thai Sikhs live in Bangkok, around the great Gurdwara in Phahurat, and there are Gurdwaras from Chiang Rai in the north to Phuket and Songkhla in the south.
