Sikhs in Kenya

How Sikhs arrived

From 1896 Sikh craftsmen and engineers came to East Africa to build the Uganda Railway, and many stayed on and built Gurdwaras along the line.

The historic Gurdwara at Makindu, on the old railway route, still serves langar to travellers today.
